Baharampur election results 2026: BJP’s Subrata Maitra defeats INC’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury by 17,584 votes

NEW DELHI: In West Bengal’s Baharampur, BJP’s Subrata Maitra received 91,088 votes, defeating INC’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury by 17,548 votes. INC’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury received 73,540 votes.
There were a total of 2,40,830 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2026 Assembly election in Baharampur Assembly constituency, of whom 1,18,741 were male, 1,22,079 female and 10 belonged to the third gender.
West Bengal voted across 294 seats in two phases on April 23 and April 29, recording a combined turnout of nearly 93 per cent — the highest since Independence and one of the largest in Indian electoral history.
